An Analysis of Blockchain Ecosystems: Understanding Types, Consensus Models and Security
Blockchain technology has a potential to transform numerous industries by faciliating a secure, transparent, and decentralized framework for data storage and transactions. This research paper provides an comprehensive analysis of blockchain technology, exploring its different types, consensus mechanisms, and its effects on network security. We have differentiated between permissioned, permissionless blockchains, analyzing the contrasting characteristics of private and public blockchains in terms of access control, governance, development, transparency, usecases and security implications. The main objectives of this paper is to understand the important role of consensus mechanisms in maintaining the integrity and security of blockchain networks. By examining the working between blockchain types, consensus mechanisms, and security considerations, the aim of the paper is to deliver a better understanding of how blockchain technology works and how it can transform network security across various sectors of industries.
