Impacto de las adaptaciones curriculares en el aprendizaje de estudiantes con necesidades educativas especiales

This study evaluated the effectiveness of an experimental curriculum adaptation plan on the learning of Language and Literature among students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) at an educational institution in Ecuador during 2023. A quasi-experimental design was applied, involving control and experimental groups, with performance measured through pre-tests and post-tests. The results showed a significant increase in the experimental group’s mean score, from 22.90 to 32.60 points, with a p-value of 0.000, demonstrating a statistically significant improvement following the intervention. These findings support the hypothesis that personalised curriculum adaptations enhance learning and contribute to an inclusive educational environment. Furthermore, the study is grounded in pedagogical theories such as Ausubel’s subsumption theory and Freire’s liberating pedagogy, which emphasise knowledge integration and dialogic learning. It is recommended that similar programmes be continued and expanded, alongside teacher training and family involvement, to further promote the academic development of students with SEN.
