Hydrodynamic Analysis of Wave Suppression Plate Based on Computational Fluid Dynamics
Abstract The purpose of this paper is to study and verify the numerical simulation of shallow water ship model prediction and the calculation and analysis of the hydrodynamic performance of the ship ‘s appendage wave suppression plate on the hull during shallow water navigation, and to serve the development and design of ship models with low carbon emissions and safety as the main objectives. Based on the theoretical knowledge of numerical solution of RANS equations, such as viscous flow theory and finite volume method, the SST k-ω turbulence model and overlapping grid technology are used to analyze the resistance of deep and shallow river-sea direct ships. The resistance performance of the hull is further verified by model test, which confirms the accuracy of the test results. In order to study the influence of different shape and installation position of the wave suppression plate on the resistance and seakeeping performance of the ship model, the numerical simulation analysis of different parameters of the wave suppression plate is carried out in this paper. The results show that the wave suppression plate can reduce the navigation resistance and the pitch angle by changing the pressure distribution on the bottom of the platform. For the river-to-sea ship in shallow water, different parameter combinations are designed, and the effects of different parameters such as span length and chord length on the total resistance and ship model attitude are discussed. The research has certain reference value for the application of wave suppression plate in shallow water navigation of ships.
