Motion Response Research of a Floating-Crane in Wave Environment During Platform Installation
Abstract During the installation of offshore platform, the floating crane often have motion response under the influence of waves, which will affect the installation safety of the platform. In some platform installation program, the acceleration of gravity of platform was required less than 0.2g during the platform installation, In order to study the influence of wave environment conditions on the floating-crane during the platform lifting and installation, numerical analysis was provided to support for the platform safety installed. In this study, the floating-crane model were established based on the 3-D potential flow theory in the MOSES computing software, and the frequency domain analysis method was used to conduct numerical analysis of the motion response amplitude operator (RAO) during the platform installation. Compare with the RAO value of Ship-borne recorder, The results show that the RAO results satisfy the installation safety requirements of the platform, and the calculated results under the same input conditions are similar to the monitoring results. The research results can provide a certain reference for the safety installation of platform.
