Diffractive optical elements for laser beam shaping and control in optical systems

This article explores the application of diffractive optical elements (DOEs) for laser beam shaping and control in optical systems. Methods for modifying beam intensity profiles, spatial distribution, and wavefront shaping are analyzed to enhance the efficiency of optical technologies. Special attention is given to the use of DOEs in structured beam shaping, adaptive beam control, and targeted energy distribution. Experimental studies on optimizing laser beam parameters with DOEs demonstrate their role in reducing optical aberrations and enhancing optical processing capabilities. The prospects of DOEs in photonics, high-precision optical systems, and nanophotonic technologies are discussed. Although many of the studies reviewed in this work originate from the field of laser-based material processing, their methodologies and findings extend beyond this domain. The principles of DOE-driven beam shaping, intensity modulation, and structured beam shaping provide valuable insights for adaptive optics, beam engineering, and structured laser beam control.
