Enhanced Anisotropic Magnetoresistance Properties in La0.7−xPrxCa0.3MnO3 Films

Polycrystalline manganites exhibit remarkable tunable magnetoresistance (MR) and anisotropic magnetoresistance (AMR), making them highly promising for magnetic sensor applications. However, their practical implementation faces dual challenges: optimal electromagnetic performance requiring high magnetic fields and a metal–insulator transition temperature ([Formula: see text] far from room temperature. In this study, La[Formula: see text]Pr[Formula: see text]Ca[Formula: see text]MnO 3 /SrTiO 3 polycrystalline thin films were synthesized using spin coating. Notably, at [Formula: see text], the films achieved MR and AMR values of 81.6% and 63.4%, respectively, under a low magnetic field of 1 T near room temperature–representing the highest reported AMR performance under similar conditions to date. The superior AMR is attributed to the synergistic effects of the double exchange between Mn[Formula: see text] and Mn[Formula: see text] and the Jahn–Teller distortion, which are induced by the altered forces in MnO 6 octahedra within manganese oxide due to the ionic radius difference between La[Formula: see text] and Pr[Formula: see text], as well as the spin–orbit coupling between different magnetic fields. These findings provide new experimental evidence and theoretical guidance for designing high–performance magnetosensitive devices and regulating the magnetoelectric properties of manganite thin films.
