ECR Spotlight – Madison Von Deylen
ECR Spotlight is a series of interviews with early-career authors from a selection of papers published in Journal of Experimental Biology and aims to promote not only the diversity of early-career researchers (ECRs) working in experimental biology but also the huge variety of animals and physiological systems that are essential for the ‘comparative’ approach. Madison Von Deylen is an author on ‘ Sex and mating success impact resource allocation and life history traits in Gryllus vocalis field crickets’, published in JEB. Madison conducted the research described in this article while a PhD student in Susan Gershman's lab at The Ohio State University (OSU), USA. Madison is now a PhD candidate in the lab of Megan Meuti at OSU, investigating how acute and chronic environmental disturbances affect individual condition and, in turn, shape animal behaviours.
