The 2023 Landscape Report: Practitioners’ Perceptions on the Field of Student Affairs Assessment
Researchers surveyed registrants of the Student Affairs Assessment Leaders Listserv. Quantitatively, we used a positivist approach to analyze data with inferential statistics and a relatively novel realist approach to analyze data with observation oriented modeling. Qualitatively, open-ended items were subjected to qualitative content analysis and then generalized to a legitimacy framework. Three broad categories of respondents’ institutions impacted respondents’ strength of agreement: institutional type, institutional designation, and accreditor. Recommendations for practice, research, and implications were provided.
