USO DE TAPING COMO TÉCNICA COMPLEMENTAR NO PÓS-OPERATÓRIO DE CIRURGIA PLÁSTICA: A VISÃO DO PACIENTE

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of taping as a complementary technique in the postoperative recovery process of plastic surgeries, focusing on the reduction of edema, hematomas, pain, and the aesthetic quality of scars. The research analyzed patients’ perceptions regarding the effectiveness of taping during the postoperative period of aesthetic surgeries, with an emphasis on pain relief and edema control. The study was conducted in the city of Ponta Grossa through a quantitative and descriptive approach, using a questionnaire applied to patients who had used the technique. The results indicated that most participants reported significant benefits, especially in terms of physical comfort.Despite promising data, the research also pointed out the lack of consistent scientific evidence on the effectiveness of taping in the aesthetic postoperative context. Therefore, this study contributes to the expansion of knowledge on the technique and reinforces the need for future research aimed at developing evidence-based protocols.
