The Impact of Applying the SCAMPER Strategy on Enhancing Integrative Thinking Skills among Fourth-Year Secondary Students in Islamic Education

This study aims to investigate the effect of the SCAMPER strategy on developing congruent thinking skills among fourth-grade secondary students in the subject of Islamic Education. To achieve this objective, the researcher adopted the experimental method. Aqbah Ibn Nafi' Secondary School for Boys was randomly selected, as it includes two sections for the fourth-grade level. Section (A) was randomly assigned as the experimental group, and Section (B) as the control group. The total number of students in both sections was (66), with (33) students in each group. After excluding two students who had failed the previous academic year, the final sample consisted of (64) students(32) in the experimental group and (32) in the control group. The researcher used the following statistical tools: Spearman-Brown equation, paired samples t-test, Pearson correlation coefficient, and Cronbach's alpha coefficient. The statistical analysis yielded the following results. The calculated t-value (0.84) indicated no statistically significant difference between the experimental and control groups in the pre-test results. This value is lower than the tabulated t-value (2.00) at the significance level of (0.05) and with (62) degrees of freedom, suggesting that the two groups were equivalent before the experiment—thus lending credibility to the subsequent results. A statistically significant difference was found between the pre-test and post-test mean scores of the experimental group in favor of the post-test, indicating improvement in congruent thinking skills. The researcher concluded that the SCAMPER strategy had a positive impact on enhancing the congruent thinking skills of students in the experimental group. Based on these findings, the study recommends integrating the SCAMPER strategy into the teaching of Islamic Education for secondary-level students. It also emphasizes the importance of training Islamic Education teachers on modern teaching methods, particularly the SCAMPER strategy, to help foster balanced and collaborative thinking among students.

To achieve this objective, the researcher adopted the experimental method. Aqbah Ibn Nafi' Secondary School for Boys was randomly selected, as it includes two sections for the fourth-grade level.
