The Effect of Entrepreneurial Spirit of Incheon Youth on Career Preparation Behavior through Grit: Moderating Effect by School Type

This study aims to find out the differences in entrepreneurship, grit, and career preparation behaviors by school type. This will help us identify areas that need improvement to achieve educational objectives. It will also help develop differentiated educational programs through the moderating effect of school type. To this end, a study was conducted on 224 high school students in Incheon. For statistics, model 8 of the SPSS PROCESS macro proposed by Hayes(2018) was used. The results of the study showed that entrepreneurship had no significant effect on grit in the parameter model (β=-.265, p=.9154), and school type had a significant effect on grit (β=.093, p=.3168). The interaction term between entrepreneurship and school type did not have a significant effect on grit (β=.200, p=.05=900), and the increase in R² due to the interaction term between entrepreneurship and school type was .011 (p=.0900), which was insignificant, indicating that school type did not moderate the relationship between entrepreneurship and grit. In the dependent variable model, entrepreneurship had a significant effect on career preparation behavior (β=.882, p<.001), grit was significant on career preparation behavior (β=.306, p<.001), and school type had a significant positive effect on career preparation behavior (β=1.241, p<.01). The interaction term between entrepreneurship and school type had a significant effect on career preparation behavior (β=-.299, p<.05). The increase in R² according to the interaction term between entrepreneurship and school type was significant at .017 (p<.05), indicating that school type moderated the relationship between entrepreneurship and career preparation behavior.

This will help us identify areas that need improvement to achieve educational objectives. It will also help develop differentiated educational programs through the moderating effect of school type.
