Pola Komunikasi Mentor dalam Proses Adaptasi Mahasiswa Magang di Dunia Kerja

Abstract. This study examines the role of mentors in helping internship students adapt to the professional environment at the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) in Bandung. It focuses on communication patterns within the one mentor one mentee system and how these interactions support students’ adjustment to organizational culture and work demands. Based on Social Exchange Theory, the mentor-student relationship is viewed as a reciprocal exchange of knowledge, emotional support, and professional development. Using a qualitative case study method, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings show that the one-on-one mentoring system fosters open, empathetic, and intensive communication, which strengthens relationships and supports students' adaptation. Structured, personal mentoring improves workplace readiness, and the study recommends broader application of this model and further quantitative research to assess its long-term impact.
