Research on Distribution Automation Monitoring and Fault Diagnosis Technology Based on the Internet of Things

In order to understand the distribution automation monitoring and fault diagnosis technology of the Internet of Things, a research on distribution automation monitoring and fault diagnosis technology based on the Internet of Things has been proposed. This paper first analyzes the design and research of an online fault location system for distribution networks based on Internet of Things technology. Secondly, taking the automation transformation of the distribution network in a certain province as an example, the project was implemented in 2022. After nearly a year of effort, an intelligent distribution system with regional intelligent monitoring, precise fault positioning, and rapid power restoration has been built. Therefore, in the actual operation process of the distribution network, once a fault occurs, the fault area can be quickly located, making China's smart grid more safe and reliable to operate.
