Specialized services for LGBTQ+ youth ended at 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline
On July 17 the federal government officially terminated specialized services for LGBTQ+ youth calling the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Although there may well still be such services available if young people call in, the option to “press 3” to reach specially trained counselors for this group was eliminated. CABL interviewed a source who said that if such callers do ask for help for their specific issues after calling 988, they will still get it.
