Visualizing lipid transport in cells

Lipid molecules form the membranes that organize cellular biochemistry in all domains of life. Imaging approaches have been developed to visualize different types of lipid at subcellular scales and show that these molecules are sorted into membranes by lipid transfer proteins, rather than by vesicles. Intracellular lipid transport is mediated mainly by lipid transfer proteins rather than vesicles.

Abstract

Lipid molecules form the membranes that organize cellular biochemistry in all domains of life. Imaging approaches have been developed to visualize different types of lipid at subcellular scales and show that these molecules are sorted into membranes by lipid transfer proteins, rather than by vesicles. Intracellular lipid transport is mediated mainly by lipid transfer proteins rather than vesicles.
