Study of gas sensor for leakage detection of phase-change liquid-cooled data center based on infrared technology
Due to the rapid development of phase change liquid cooling technology applied to data centers, the demand of special auxiliary detection methods was proposed. Infrared gas sensor has advantages of high selective, long life, and its application in environmental monitoring is very extensive. So in this paper the gas sensor for the coolant used in data center was studied based on infrared technology. Infrared absorption characteristics was studied through infrared absorption peak test and infrared absorption intensity test. The characteristic wavelength of coolant and the rule between concentration and light intensity can be got. Then the gas sensor was manufactured. The concentration can be measured through detecting the light intensity changes after flowing through the gas cell. In this paper, the accuracy of the sensor was tested and the results indicates that the detectable concentration can stably reach 1mg/L. Economic analysis shows that it can be used in data center for leakage detection in the future.
