Research on simulation method of contrast modulation transfer function deduction in infrared system

With the development and application of infrared imaging technology, the imaging simulation technology of infrared systems has been receiving increasing attention. Based on the mechanism of the contrast modulation transfer function (MTF) of infrared systems affecting the imaging quality, a method for deducing the contrast MTF between different systems was proposed. The influence of the system's spatial cutoff frequency on the accuracy of the deduction results was analyzed. On this basis, combined with existing infrared image data, the imaging image deduction simulation of infrared systems was realized. The deduction simulation method was verified by an actual infrared imaging system. The results show that in the low-frequency space (below the system's spatial cutoff frequency), the error of the method is small, with a maximum of no more than 15%. As the spatial frequency increases (approaching the system's spatial cutoff frequency), the error increases.
