The August Revolution of 1945 was a monumental historical event that marked a great turning point in the history of Vietnam in the 20th century. Under the leadership of the Communist Party and President Hồ Chí Minh, for the first time in the history of Vietnam and other colonies and semi-colonies worldwide, “a 15-year-old Party successfully led the revolution and seized nationwide power” (Hồ Chí Minh). This resounding victory was achieved through the sacrifices of hundreds and thousands of steadfast and loyal Party leaders who devoted their lives to the independence and freedom of the Fatherland and the happiness of the people.
