Pengaruh Academic Self-Efficacy terhadap Stres Akademik pada Mahasiswa Skripsi Fakultas Kedokteran
Abstract. Final-year medical students working on their theses face high levels of academic stress due to the burden of completing their final assignments and the demands of a dense and complex curriculum, which can trigger academic stress. This study aims to analyze the influence of academic self-efficacy on academic stress among final-year medical students in Bandung who are writing their theses. The study employs a quantitative approach with a correlational design and cross-sectional data collection techniques. Data were collected from 212 respondents using convenience sampling. The instruments used were the Indonesian Academic Self-Efficacy Scale (TIASS) based on Zajacova et al.'s (2005) theory and the Student-Life Stress Inventory (SLSI) based on Gadzella and Masten's (2005) theory. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) through SmartPLS 4 software. The results of the study indicate that most students have low levels of academic self-efficacy, which contributes to high academic stress. There is a significant influence between academic self-efficacy and academic stressors (β = -.592) and reactions to academic stressors (β = -.653). These findings confirm that the higher students' confidence in their abilities, the lower their stress levels. Strengthening academic self-efficacy can be an effective coping strategy.
