A Study of Peripheral Arterial Disease in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Using the Ankle-Brachial Pressure Index and Its Correlation With Glycaemic Control and Duration of Diabetes in a Tertiary Care Teaching Hospital
Prevalence of PAD in diabetes mellitus is positively associated with duration of diabetes, age, BMI, systolic hypertension, and chronic hyperglycaemia (high HbA1C). It can be easily and reliably diagnosed using the ABI (less than 0.9), which will help in early detection and management.
