Pengaruh Stres Kerja terhadap Turnover Intention pada Karyawan Industri Perhotelan

Abstract. The high level of turnover intention in the hospitality industry is a crucial issue that impacts the effectiveness and sustainability of organizational operations. This study aims to determine the effect of work stress on turnover intention among employees of 4- and 5-star hotels. The approach used is a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional research design. The sample consisted of 110 employees of 4- and 5-star hotels who met the criteria, where all employees who met the criteria were involved as respondents using a total population sampling technique. The data collection instruments consisted of a work stress scale based on De Bruin's theory (2006) which includes three dimensions: motivational stress, cognitive stress, and affective stress, which has been adapted by Kristianto (2017) and a turnover intention scale developed by Mobley et al. (2011) which has been adapted by Farhan Farisan (2022), and includes the dimensions of thinking of quitting, intention to search for alternatives, and intention to quit. Data analysis was performed using simple linear regression with the help of SPSS version 27. The results showed that job stress has a positive and significant influence on turnover intention with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05) and a coefficient of determination (R²) of 74.5%. This indicates that the higher the level of job stress perceived by employees, the greater their tendency to leave the organization. These findings provide practical implications for hotel management to pay more attention to job stress management to reduce employee turnover intentions.
