Preface

The 2025 International Conference on Remote Sensing, Measurement and Big Data (RSMBD 2025) was held in Changsha, China, from May 16th to 18th, 2025. While modest in scale, the conference stood out for its vibrant atmosphere and meaningful exchanges between scholars from diverse backgrounds and disciplines. RSMBD 2025 focused on emerging challenges and advances in remote sensing technologies, high-precision measurement, and big data analysis. To explore these interconnected themes in depth, the conference organized 10 specialized workshops, covering topics such as hyperspectral image processing, SAR-based disaster monitoring, GIS-driven prediction methods, intelligent satellite planning, urban perception, and secure remote sensing. These workshops provided targeted platforms for focused discussions, and were led by experts from China, Iran, Serbia, and beyond. Keynote and invited speeches further enriched the event. Professor Lu Xin (National University of Defense Technology) discussed the evolving role of big data in emergency management. Professor Li Kuang (Central South University) shared insights on service regulation and governance. Professor Lu Chen (Zhejiang University) gave a thought-provoking invited talk on big data intelligent governance. Each talk was followed by lively Q&A sessions, reflecting the participants' high level of engagement and curiosity. List of RSMBD 2025 Committee is available in this PDF.
