Redundant-Bit-Free Error Correction Utilizing Short-Term Correlation in Oversampled Waveform in Underwater Optical Wireless Communications
A redundant-bit-free bit error correction, utilizing short-term correlation in received samples through <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$2 \times$</tex> oversampling, is proposed. Experiments achieved 1.2 dB decoding gain for OOK in underwater optical wireless transmission by error correction without additional redundant bits.
