Ultra-Wide Band Vector Synthesis Phase Shifter Based on 55nm Process

This paper describes the design of a vector modulater-type phase shifter operating at <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$20-40 \text{GHz}$</tex> using the nm process. Using gm-C PPF in the orthogonal signal generator module reduces the insertion loss of the module in the corresponding frequency band. It is optimized to minimize insertion loss, maximize phase shift accuracy and gain error, and facilitate its integration into Ka-band phased arrays. The test results show that the average insertion loss is 6 db, the power consumption is less than 20.2mW, and the RMS gain/phase error is less than <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\mathbf{0. 5 6 d B}$</tex> and <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$2.41^{\boldsymbol{\circ}}$</tex>.
