On-Demand Isotropic or Anisotropic Perforation of Biological Tissue by Bi-Modal Control of Plasma Etching and Micro-Fluidic Jet
In this study, we propose a needle-free injector that can deliver drugs anisotropically or isotropically to the desired depth. This device can be used for Solution Plasma Discharge Etching (SPDE) and Micro-Fluidic Jet Etching (MFJE) by controlling the distance between the target and the injector. Experiments were performed on pig skin using both methods, and the SPDE was successfully performed anisotropically to a maximum depth of 1.1mm, while the MFJE was successfully performed isotropically to a maximum depth of 1.3mm. And the aspect ratio of the hole was successfully controlled by changing the shape of the injector.
