Fluidic-Assisted Self-Alignment Transfer Microleds Onto a Silicon-On-Insulator for Visible Light Communication

We demonstrate a novel integration method for GaN microLEDs onto SOI for visible light communication, utilizing an adhesive-free van der Waals bonding technique. This will enable the direct stacking III-V devices in lateral and vertical direction, paving the way for advanced VLC systems.

Abstract

We demonstrate a novel integration method for GaN microLEDs onto SOI for visible light communication, utilizing an adhesive-free van der Waals bonding technique. This will enable the direct stacking III-V devices in lateral and vertical direction, paving the way for advanced VLC systems.
