Performance Optimization of Optical Decoders Using Multimode Interferometers

We investigated performance optimization of MMI-based optical decoders for enhanced port concentration. Configuration of two-bit parallel BPSK inputs with probes are analyzed, demonstrating improved contrast ratio of 2.5 dB and BER power penalty of 1.3 dB.
