Behavior Model and Nonlinearity Characterization of Coherent Optical DAC Transmitters

The nonlinearity of coherent optical DAC transmitters is characterized using proposed bit-dependent impulse model, considering Rx-side DSPs with and without IQ imbalance compensation. Theoretical nonlinear SNRs and simulated ones align within 0.1 dB across 25 dB range.

Abstract

The nonlinearity of coherent optical DAC transmitters is characterized using proposed bit-dependent impulse model, considering Rx-side DSPs with and without IQ imbalance compensation. Theoretical nonlinear SNRs and simulated ones align within 0.1 dB across 25 dB range.
