Miniaturized Beam Scanning Device Enabled by Cascaded Metasurfaces for LiDAR Applications
This paper presents a beam scanning device for LiDAR applications based on a combination of cascaded metasurfaces and a micro-actuator. We propose a far-field coupling cascading method and utilize the actuator to drive the relative motion between the metasurfaces, achieving continuous two-dimensional beam scanning with large field of view (FoV) and minimal beam divergence. This work highlights the potential of dynamic metasurfaces in enhancing the miniaturization and performance of LiDAR systems, paving the way for their integration into a wide range of optical applications.
