A Cascaded Equalizer in 256-QAM Optical Fiber Communication Systems

We design a cascaded equalizer with three stages in a 25-GBaud 256-QAM optical fiber transmission system. The experiment results show a 15.12 % reduction in computational complexity and a 0.53-dB SNR improvement compared to conventional LMS+PLL.

Abstract

We design a cascaded equalizer with three stages in a 25-GBaud 256-QAM optical fiber transmission system. The experiment results show a 15.12 % reduction in computational complexity and a 0.53-dB SNR improvement compared to conventional LMS+PLL.
