Implantable Electronic Devices Based on Omnidirectional Pre-Stretched Silk Films
In this paper, we report an implantable electronic device based on an omnidirectionally pre-stretched silk film, demonstrating superior biocompatibility, lower Young's modulus, and better biodegradability than polyimide electrodes. We solved the problem of water-absorption and swelling of the silk film to damage the circuit structure by omnidirectional pre-stretching of the silk film, and prepared multi-channel bioelectrodes on its surface by electron beam evaporation. In vivo applications confirm that our electrodes can effectively capture ECoG signals collected in a mouse epilepsy model, clearly distinguishing between basal and epileptic states.
