Real-Time Optical Fiber Cable Fault Detection with Location Technique Based on Measurement of Light Backscattered from Transmission Signals
We propose a real-time optical network monitoring technique utilizing light backscattered from transmitted light signals. The proposed method can identify the fault cause and estimate its location within 25% accuracy for fiber lengths 1-40 km.
