A Microperfusion System of Promoeted Cell Growth Using Non-Thermal Atmospheric Pressure Plasma

Promoted cell growth is strongly demanded in life science and medical application such as regenerative medicine. MEMS researchers have been developing microperfusion system for simulating in-vivo conditions which are suited for cell growth. For advancing cell growth technology further, we applied plasma technology, which is frequently used in MEMS fabrication, for cells under perfusion culture. Suppose that plasma is generated under atmospheric conditions, the plasma reacts with ambient air producing reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONS) which affect cells. Those RONS can be used as triggers for boosting cell growth. Here, we achieved RONS delivery to cells under microperfusion.
