Simulation of Bubble Pulsation and Migration Phenomena Due to Underwater Explosion
Bubble pulsation and migration is the critical part of underwater explosion. Bubble pulsation leads to pressure loading for prolong time which may lead to whipping response of marine ships. In this study a Finite element model is developed to simulate this phenomena using multi material ALE approach. The model simulates underwater explosion of explosive TNT of 10mm radius at depth of 400mm. Growth of bubble diameter due to the explosion with time is simulated and compared with the analytical estimation. Pulsation and migration of bubble is also captured through the simulation.
