Imaging Electron Beams in Linear Vacuum Electronic Devices

An electron camera has been developed for imaging the beams inside of linear vacuum electronic devices. The electron current deposited on each graphite lens in the camera array is used to generate heatmap images of the beam. These images, which are produced in real time, show the electron beam's evolution as the focusing magnetic fields are externally manipulated.

Abstract

An electron camera has been developed for imaging the beams inside of linear vacuum electronic devices. The electron current deposited on each graphite lens in the camera array is used to generate heatmap images of the beam. These images, which are produced in real time, show the electron beam's evolution as the focusing magnetic fields are externally manipulated.
