Comparative Analysis of Random Unitary Matrix Generators Using Programmable Photonic Circuits

Photonic integrated random unitary matrix generators based on multiport directional couplers are analyzed. Abstract

Photonic integrated random unitary matrix generators based on multiport directional couplers are analyzed. Up to <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$512 \times 512$</tex> matrix with complete Haar randomness is obtained by only three phase shifting layers, significantly reducing number of phase shifters.
