Highly Sensitive and Selective Photonic Crystal-MOF Composite Fluorescent Sensor for Neurotoxin Detection

This study presents a highly sensitive and selective composite fluorescent sensor based on the integration of metal-organic frameworks (UIO-66-Tpy) with silica photonic crystals (SiO<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf> PCs) for efficient detection of the nerve agent simulant DCP. The hybrid film (UIO-66-Tpy@SiO<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf>) exhibits a 15-fold fluorescence enhancement, with a detection limit of 1.1 ppm, rapid response (<10 s), excellent selectivity, reversibility, and stability. This work expands MOF applications in optoelectronic sensing and offers a promising strategy for gas detection in complex environments, with potential in environmental monitoring and biomedical safety.
