Sampling-Moiré-Method Force Plate Array via Single-Step 3D-Printing
This paper reports a triaxial force plate (FP) array for measuring ground reaction force (GRF) distribution utilizing the sampling moiré (SM) method. The proposed FP system consists of a planar spring array, plates, checkerboard patterns, prisms, and a single camera. The planar spring array is easily fabricated in a single step with an FDM 3D printer. A <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$6 \times 7$</tex> array of 25 mm square FP elements was constructed, demonstrating the capability for independent triaxial force measurements. The proposed FP system will allow multi-point simultaneous GRF measurement in animal locomotion.
