Maximum a Posteriori Probability Phase Recovery for 256-QAM Modulated Signals in Coherent Optical Communications

We propose a maximum a posteriori probability (MAP) estimator that can perform phase recovery symbol by symbol, with the optimum performance converging to Bayesian Cramér-Rao lower bound (BCRLB), especially for high-order modulated signals.
