Exploring Frame Synchronization Pilots Orthogonality for Space Time Coded SOQPSK-TG
The paper discusses the IRIG-106 SOQPSK-TG waveform used in aeronautical telemetry communications, fo-cusing on its integration with Space Time Coding to solve the common two-antenna problem. The state of the art receiver algorithms presents challenges involving long frame synchronization times. They also offer poor performance at low SNR levels. Thus limiting the benefits of Soft-output demodulation schemes, performing below Hard-output thresholds. This study introduces a new receiver design aiming to solve the long synchronization times problems and to improve the accuracy at lower SNR levels.
