The Investigation of Cyclone ROANU Using MWR
Sriharikota is a tropical Indian Coastal station located at the barrier island off the Bay of Bengal. After the advent of Passive Ground based Microwave Radiometer (MWR) studies has been evolved more in the lower and middle troposphere regions. Using the high resolution retrieval profiles up to 10Kms can provide worthy information about convection and instabilities arising in the atmosphere. In this study an attempt has been made to study about the cyclone ROANU which came close to the vicinity of MWR installed in Sriharikota. WRF model as well as MWR has provided informative results. The results demonstrated the effectiveness of MWR profiles in aiding us in analyzing atmospheric parameters during the cyclone movement.
