Abstract

A novel network architecture consisting of nodes with different routing granularities is proposed. Simulations confirm total network cost reductions of <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$29 \% / 41 {\%}$</tex> with the introduction of bundled optical path routing to just large-scale nodes.
