Demonstration of Eye-Safe 200-Gb/s Optical Wireless Access via Carrier-Assisted Differential Detection

Our experimental results show that a high SE of 3.28 bits/Hz can be achieved by using QAM modulation in self-coherent reception.

Abstract

The first eye-safe <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$200-G b / s$</tex> indoor optical wireless access via carrier-assisted differential detection with double sideband complex-valued signals is demonstrated. Our experimental results show that a high SE of 3.28 bits/Hz can be achieved by using QAM modulation in self-coherent reception.
