A 1.5 MW Continuous Wave Power Amplifier using the TH526B Thales Tetrode at 57 MHz
In this paper, the experimental results as well as the simulation data of the analytical model of the TH526B tetrode amplifier are presented. This tetrode aims to be used as a final High Power Amplifier stage for CRAFT thermonuclear fusion reactor. Up to 1.5MW in continuous wave (CW) power has been reached while operating in common grid and class B configuration at 57MHz. An RF efficiency of 66% and a power gain of 15.6dB have been achieved for this operating point.
