In-Orbit Reliability of TWTAs and MPMs Based on 1 Billion Operating Hours
TESAT MPMs and TWTAs have exceeded the cumulated operating time in orbit of 1 billion hours. This is regarded to be a good point in time to present an update of the achieved equipment reliability in orbit with data up to the end of the year 2024. Based on reported equipment anomalies the comparison with the standard reliability analysis based on parts count/stress is provided in this paper. Various breakdowns such as SINGLE vs. DUAL units or TWTAs vs. MPMs, as well as the FIT rate evolution over time, are presented and discussed.
