Third-Order Hybrid Raman Amplifier with 102-nm Bandwidth, 30.4-dB Gain and -7.6 dB Effective Noise Figure
We experimentally demonstrate third-order distributed Raman cascaded with lumped Raman, achieving amplification over a 102-nm bandwidth, covering the full <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$C$</tex> and <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$L$</tex> bands, with 30.4-dB average gain and the lowest <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$-7.6 d B$</tex> effective noise figure.
