Terahertz Frequency Combs in Silicon Nitride Microresonators for Mid-Infrared Photonics

We demonstrate mid-infrared frequency comb using a <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$2 \mu ~\mathrm{m}$</tex> pump in a silicon nitride microresonator with a 1 terahertz free spectral range. The comb spans 200 nm, with 10 dB extinction, enabling efficient nonlinear conversion.

Abstract

We demonstrate mid-infrared frequency comb using a <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$2 \mu ~\mathrm{m}$</tex> pump in a silicon nitride microresonator with a 1 terahertz free spectral range. The comb spans 200 nm, with 10 dB extinction, enabling efficient nonlinear conversion.
