High Temperature-Frequency Coefficient Achived in a Fully Flexible Surface Acoustic Wave Temperature Sensor

This work presents a fully flexible high-precision Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) temperature sensor based on polyvinylidene fluoride-trifluoro ethylene (P(VDF-TrFE)), with a polyimide (PI) film serving as the substrate. The resonant frequency of the surface acoustic wave is approximately 12.228 MHz. The sensor demonstrates an exceptional linear Temperature Coefficient of Frequency (TCF) of −8260 ppm/°C across a temperature range of 24.3 °C to 50.6 °C, rendering it highly suitable for precise temperature measurements, especially for disposable applications in medical and flexible electronics. This study underscores the immense potential of P(VDF-TrFE) materials in flexible temperature sensors, providing new directions and technical insights for the future development of flexible electronic devices.
