Self-Pressurizing Microfluidic Chip for Bubble Suppression
This study proposes a miniaturized, integrated, and self-pressurizing micro fluidic chip design to address bubble generation in polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS)-based micro fluidic chips during polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification. By pre-injecting nitrogen into the sealed outlet channel prior to introducing PCR reagents, the internal pressure of the chip is elevated. This elevated pressure raises the liquid-phase boiling point, thereby suppressing bubble generation. It eliminates the need for external air pumps, offering advantages such as compact size, low manufacturing cost, and enhanced potential for commercializing micro fluidic PCR technology.
