Smart Plant Monitoring System
This report presents the development and implementation of a Smart Plant Monitoring System, designed to address challenges in traditional agricultural practices through the integration of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. The system uses real-time data monitoring and automation to ensure best plant care while minimizing resource wastage. Key components of the system include the ESP8266 NodeMCU microcontroller, soil moisture sensors, DHT11 temperature and humidity sensors, and a relay-controlled water pump. Real-time data is visualized on the Blynk mobile app, with historical data logged and analysed using the ThingSpeak platform. This scalable system aligns with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2 and 6, promoting water conservation and sustainable agriculture. Enhanced scalability and connectivity options are implemented to broaden its applicability. Additionally, the system incorporates future-oriented design considerations such as renewable energy integration and advanced communication protocols to address challenges in diverse agricultural environments.
